Food Drive Volunteers
Our food drives are a vital source of food and cash donations for Food For Thought and generate over $300,000 annually, thanks to our food drive volunteers! We hold food drives on three Saturdays and one Sunday per month outside the doors of local markets. Food drive volunteers offer flyers to shoppers as they enter the door, asking them to buy extra items while they shop and then receive the donations in bins as the shoppers exit.
Old or young, anyone can become a food drive volunteer! This is a great opportunity for those who work during the week but want to volunteer for a couple of hours on the weekend. It is also an easy way to complete school-required volunteer hours or bulk up a college resume. Children under 16 years of age must volunteer with an adult family member or friend.
We hold food drives across Sonoma County, in the locations listed below. If a location near you is not listed, please let us know.

There is no weekly or monthly commitment, but the more you can volunteer the better! Food drive volunteer shifts last for two and a half hours. The first shift starts at 10 a.m. and the last shift ends at 5:30 p.m. If you have a truck, van, or SUV, we always need help hauling food donations back to the food bank at the end of the day.
Are you ready to become a food drive volunteer? Get started by filling out our volunteer application. You will be contacted soon after the form is submitted.
If you have any questions in the meantime, please email Food Drive & Volunteer Coordinator, Liv Chaaban Thomas at LivC@FFTfoodbank.org or call (707) 887-1647 x 125.
